School Council
Cyngor Yr Ysgol
Birchgrove school has a democratic, strong and thriving pupil voice through its School Council structure. We have introduced Year Councils and selected pupils who contribute to a regular Full School Council meeting.
High on the agenda are links to teaching and learning experiences. The pupil voice is an essential part of our school philosophy. Listening to our pupils on a range of issues informs the strategic direction taken by staff and the Governing Body. Most recently they have contributed to changes in school uniform, healthy eating, rewards and sanctions and adaptations to our learning environment.
Our Head Boy and Head Girl are Associate Pupil Governors who play a full part in Governors’ meetings, including the appointment of teaching staff.
